Released in late April, INURE’s new album “Subversive” continues getting excellent reviews from the industrial/EBM camp. Their mixture of old-school sound and modern electronics, with frontal aggressive (but non distorted) vocals please fans and DJ’s with a clear preference for the tracks “Subversive”, “Intruder” and “This Disgrace” and a good mention for their splendid cover version of ALICE IN CHAINS’ cover version of “Would?”.
Comparisons to North American references like SKINNY PUPPY and NUMB are recurrent and confirm the high potential of this American trio. Famous Release magazine’s review speaks for itself: “When the press release spoke of comparisons to Numb, they weren't kidding. Inure possess the ability to conjure up dark soundscapes brimming over with psychosis in a way I haven't heard since Numb's 1998 album "Language of Silence".” While Gothtronic add that “A track like ‘Subversive’, ‘Hymen’ , ‘This Disgrace’ or the atmospheric dark ‘Intruder’ come scarily close to the quality of Skinny Puppy tracks. … This album of Inure is an unexpected blast.”.
The artist community seems to also react positively to INURE. When hearing their album, UNTER NULL and DIVE vs. DISKONNEKTED immediately contacted INURE for some remix duties, While Claus Larsen (LEAETHER STRIP) said in a recent interview that INURE was his best discovery this year. INURE have now also been confirmed as official support act for the controversial Australian scene leader SN0G during their forthcoming West Coast American tour in September.
