Pouppée Fabrikk play reunion show at Bodyfest 2010 in Stockholm
On October 10 Pouppée Fabrikk played live again for the first time since long. The lucky public was that of the Stockholm based one-day festival Bodyfest 2010 which this year also hosted Front 242, No Sleep by the Machine, Stockholm Wrecking Crew, Spark!, Autodafeh and Tyske Ludder. We spoke to Christiaan R. to ask him what this reunion gig meant for the band: "This gig was a fantastic motivator/energy boost! The reactions both on stage and afterwards were great, we couldn't have asked for a better gig in any way or form."
While we had one of the bandmembers in our hands, we also asked how the new album was progressing: "The studio work is progressing! We are thinking about including a bit more death metal guitar on a few tracks just to cater to some newer fans that don't like the oldschool stuff. The thing is quite strange, part of the fans headbang to the crossover/ebm tracks but the hardcore oldchool fans screams 'Keine gitarre!' on the new stuff. We want to try to please both camps (laughs)."
Pouppée Fabrikk shared the stage with their fellow labelmates of Front 242. "It was an honour", says Christiaan R., "to share that stage with the guys who pioneered and gave name to the whole genre; we have seen them several times before but to deliver the same presence and attitude now 2010 as they did at the beginning - I think we saw them first back in 1986 somewhere in Sweden - is something very few bands manage!"
Above is a live video of Pouppée Fabrikk playing "Betrayalizer" at this year's Bodyfest.
And to wet the appetite, here's some of the studio pre-production for the band's new album.
