Fresh reviews for Krystal System's 'VooDoo Night Sessions' on Side-line and Bruitarium
"...Speaking for myself, the debut album "Underground" from Krystal System definitely belongs to the best releases from 2009..." ( Side-Line review of Krystal System's "VooDoo night sessions" EP )
"...The killer guitar riffs and heavy beats mixed with addictive electronic textures will bewitch you for sure. ..." (Bruitarium review of "VooDoo night sessions")
Bruitarium : "...One year after the release of their debut album « Underground », the parisian combo Krystal System strikes back and stick the knife in deeper.
This time, the electro-indus cyber chamans offer us a seven tracks limited edition EP named “VooDoo Night sessions”.
It includes a very personnal rereading of five tracks from their debut album and two versions (pretty different) of the Master & Servant Depeche Mode hit (their cover won the 1st price on the « Tribute To Depeche Mode » Alfa Matrix compilation).
Listening to Krystal System means entering a rich musical world with subtil and deep lyrics showing up every form of alienation.
The rereading are clearly made for dark-electro-indus-metal dance-floors parties in a bloody punchy and efficient format.
[ ...La tradition rassure , encaustique et fabrique
Des lignées d'apathiques.
Le mental dresse un mur conforme à la logique
De l'égocentrisme. ] opens up the EP with « Mental » in its Mekatronic side.
The killer guitar riffs and heavy beats mixed with addictive electronic textures will bewitch you for sure.
The magic works again thanks to the perfect symbiosis between the cyber-guru N°7 who distils with his synthetisers a complex electro-indus alchemy boosted with amphetamines, and the post-apocayptical priestess Bonnie and her both sensuel / angry vocals wich will put a spell on the most recalcitrants, convicting them to an endless rythmic transe.
So come and dive into those voodoo nights, free your mind, you won’t regret it..."
