YouTube bans Psy'Aviah's 'Moments feat. Suzi Q. Smith' videoclip for being too erotic
After being online for about 3 months and after ten thousands of views Youtube has decided to ban the Psy'Aviah videoclip for the track "Moments feat. Suzi Q. Smith". The track, featured on Psy'Aviah's recent album "Entertainment Industries", apparently got banned for being very explicit. Weird because, as the band pointed out, there is far worse available on YouTube going from rappers glorifying rape, drugs and murder to promotions for brothels. Yves Schelpe from Psy'Aviah: "Let it be clear that we have no problem whatsoever with them banning any explicit content. But it has to be said that Youtube isn't that strict to their paying members aka 'partners'. There are a lot more offending videos on their servers that didn't get banned or flagged. (...) Also the video was never intended to be explicit or provocative in any way, it simply is there to illustrate and support the meaning behind the song in a visual way, or from another perspective..."
The affair is getting the necessary echoes in the Belgian press as National newspapers such as Het Laatste Nieuws, De Morgen, Gazet Van Antwerpen, etc all published articles on the banning this morning. The band has also been interviewed by a TV crew a few hours ago.
