ZOMBIE GIRL’s label ALFA MATRIX is currently facing lots of trouble to get the band’s album’s booklet printed. So far 4 major pressing plants in Europe have refused printing the booklet for the simple reason that it holds a photograph of female singer Renee Cooper Komor eating a bloody piece of meat as well as images of some bloody "brain dishes". The named pictures will not feature on the frontcover but inside the booklet.
In a reaction Seba Dolimont, Alfa Matrix CEO, explains in a rather furious way that he is far from happy with the situation:
"Pass me the expression, but I am pissed off by the people responsible for this censorship. Their decisions are clearly based on preconceived ideas. On top, you must know that 2 of these pressing plants have pressed hundred thousands of CD’s for Alfa Matrix in the past! And now for non-founded reasons they put us in such a difficult situation that we might have to push back the street date of the album. This is not fair to the ZOMBIE GIRL fans and certainly not fair towards the band itself! If there were any offensive or unacceptable image in the booklet, we would ourselves have talked about it with the artists but unlike certain mainstream artists that have made a trademark of using less innocent artwork material, ZOMBIE GIRL are not guilty of using offensive images."
And he adds:
"Whoever is familiar with ZOMBIE GIRL’s artistic concept and the particular sense of humor that is hidden behind their work, will not be surprised that with an album titled "Blood, Brains & Rock’n Roll" that we would of course find lots of blood, brains, and rock’n roll in the artwork design of the album itself. Now that some plastic brains covered in fake blood generate such censoring reactions is beyond understanding. I see much more shocking images every day on the TV news..."
So far, the label does not plan to change a single detail to the artwork itself but might need some more days until they find a flexible pressing plant and in the worst case might delay the release date of the album.
You can see the pictures which have been refused by the pressing plants below:
So were these the same plants that were happy to print the Unter Null booklets? If they are then this is bonkers. Those covers have about the same amount of blood and I mean the first EP was called 'Sick Fuck'.

That's crazy...now we have censorship being done by printing firms?! The only thing they should be concerned about is color accuracy! Maybe Alfa Matrix should look into which printing firm Ministry used for their Filth Pig album.
Yes indeed - same pressing plant who pressed UNTER NULL cd's is now refusing this one? logical isn't it? We've been faithful to them for over 5 years... over 100 releases!
They always offered us top quality pressings, but starting playing the role of censorship is too much for me... strange Germans!
